Hello everyone!

How is life after AI is writing code for everyone ? Can it make u nicer designs as well ? LLD / HLD ? Can they handle your customer expectations ?

Do ur executives understand or are they after the false narrative that now u somehow are supposed to be 5x faster ?

Did we make the impression that we just write code ? And did we do the rest of the things and we just couldn't advocate that ?

Is it just a marketing gimmick to fight an economic war in favor of the current king of capitalism ?

And if AI is priced the way it is and who knows about the future pricing, are we going to get to a phase where coding is only for the ones who can afford it ?

Who knows ?

In this time of turmoil though, i believe i should fall back to the origins of software engineering. How it all started not as a high paying field but as something fun that nerds and geeks build. How thousands of such people came together to help with their hobbies to build the entire system known as Linux today.

I have never been truly a part of the open source community. But ig that is the way to go. FOSS!

Who just got fascinated that writing something like English made the computer listen to the kid and make things happen. The world of magic where a silicon rock listened to u.

Can we help each other's inner kid and the future kids to build a better world ?

So in the first post, i just wanna ask every developer who probably have got CS degrees and / or are working as devs to pay their bills for many years. Have you heard of the ACM Code of conducts ? What are your thoughts on this ? Does it matter ? or its just a false sense of hope given to kids ?
